Dahab

Formerly a Bedouin fishing village the construction of international chain-hotels and other ancillary facilities has now made this a popular destination with tourists.
Dahab is world-renowned for its windsurfing.
The SCUBA diving and snorkelling are also very good, with many reefs immediately adjacent to waterfront. Prior to the Israeli withdrawal from the region in 1982, the town was also known as Zahav, which is Hebrew for "gold."
